推拿 Tuīná - Pushing and Grabbing (manual therapy)

Tuina is the art of healing through touch. It includes medical massage, mobilization, chiropractic, and the energetic work on the "qi-body" of the patient. It is a manual therapy not only firmly anchored in the system of Chinese Medicine, but provides a foundation for all their external applications.

In ancient times pressing and rubbing (按摩 Ànmó) of the body invigorates the vital energy (氣  ) and blood (血 Xuè). Muscles and joints were relaxed, pain was relieved or disappeared, blockages and tensions melted away. Over the millennia, certain vital points (穴 X) and channels (经络 Jīngluò) were discovered and used to sense and affect the Qi. A complex system of application on the body`s surface developed, which today are used to treat a variety of ailments and diseases.

Tuina therapy fits to patients with disorders of the musculoskeletal system (orthopedics and neurology) and injury-related symptoms (tauma). Applications range from low back pain, herniated disc, sciatica, and shoulder-arm syndrome, neck pain, sprains and strains of all joints. In addition, it is useful for a variety of internal siseases, e.g. for pain such as migraine, menstrual problems and digestive complaints.

气功按摩 Qìgōng Ànmó - Work with Qi (Qigong Massage)

The Tuina therapy is both powerful and dynamic, as well as calm and deeply effecting techniques. Depending on the condition of the patient, activation or sedation and relaxation is achieved. Patients with stress or emotional problems are mentally balanced. Elderly people and patients recovering from long illness or whose immune systems are weak, are strengthend and refreshed. In this way infections, allergies and fatigue have no chance.

正骨 Zhènggǔ - bonesetting (chiropractic)

In addition to the massaging techniques Tuina therapy offers passive movements, joint mobilisation and chiropractic manipulations. Sometimes the fault lies in overused or blocked bone connections, such as those of the spine or the joints. In this case, it is necessary to use cautious stretches, rotations and twists in order to regulate the statics and the joint play. These passive movements are well prepared and smoothly integrated into the treatment, so that they are pleasant.
